PEACE
and CONFLICT Case Studies: Europe and Beyond Joint
Intensive Program I and II Programme (PDF doc)
The objective of the project
is to organise the second intensive session, gathering the
selected candidates to the EDEN Programme (European Doctorate
Enhancement), under the theme of 'Peace and Conflict Case
Studies: Europe and Beyond'.
The students will have been
selected to the programme on the basis of their expertise
in the field of international law, conflict resolution and
peace building.
The seminars offered in the
IP will provide the 'praxis' perspective to potential experts
and policy-makers in the area.
The IP will take the form of
a ten-day-long seminar, with presentations and training
modules from an interdisciplinary body of academics and
specialists, and will include active participation on the
part of the candidates.
The following areas of interest
have been selected:
a) the integration of theory
and practise in conflict resolution,
b) the European standard and
traditional approaches in conflict resolution, and
c) the alternative approaches
to conflict resolution within and beyond Europe.
The IP will be the second of
two sessions geared towards obtaining the EDEN diploma.
As a result, the expected output of the programme is to
strengthen the emergence of an active network of European
experts in the field of Peace and Conflict studies.
